This 2 hour workshop will equip you with the confidence to prepare your manuscript so you can get the best value from your editor. Jane is a published author, archivist, librarian and editor who will guide you with confidence. All proceeds support free literacy workshops for children at The Lighthouse Toowoomba.

Part 1: Editing intro
· Overview of editing and publishing process
- What are the different types of editing, and which do I need?
- How do I find an editor?
- What can I expect to happen during the editing process?
- How can I get the most out of the process and the best value for money?
· How to find the right editor
Part 2: Technology and tools
· Style sheets
· Word’s Track Changes feature
· Word’s Styles feature
Part 3: Hone your writing
· Common writing errors
· Practical writing exercises to recognise and fix common errors

Requirements
Participants will need to bring their own laptops with Microsoft Word installed.

Participants will receive a list of resources they can turn to for more information.
